I noticed someone on here had blacked out or tinted tail lights. I was wondering how this was done, and how much it cost? also, does anyone know where to get, or how to make clear tail lamps? I am looking for something to change up my Bonneville. I'm thinking of blacking it out (ie headlight covers, black tail lights, tinted windows...)

I've tinted out my own tail light on my 92 Bonneville SE! I used liquid tint from a hobby shop. It took 5 bottles to do all four light assembies plus a can of clear coat to seal it from weather. It used to tint plastic car models and is water based. I applied 5 coats of tint to equal the Grand Prix'* tail lights.

the product is called night shades

It is an aerosol applied tint. You can apply as much as you want, then seal it with a clearcoat.

Jimmy-

I used the night shades stuff by VHT to tint mine a couple weeks ago. Bought it from summit racing online. I bought 2 cans, but really you only need 1. I put 7 total coats on all of my lights, and I taped off my reverse lights so they stayed clear. If your in Rochester, your about 30 minutes from me. Get ahold of me sometime and I'll help you do them. I have pictures of how mine turned out on my website. I still want to put a couple more coats of clear coat over them to make them really glossy, but overall I am really impressed with the turn out. The light still shines through red as ever, day or night. I'm working on a write up for the entire project since I took step by step pictures (like 30 total) when I did it. I'm gonna post the write up on my site and submit it to Teuobk for the Tech page as well, so keep checking.

Hope this helps!
