Default best place to buy carpet

Alright gentlemen I've gotten a lot of info on the door seal debaucle - THANKS! Now I'm wondering where those of you who have dealt with this got your carpet replacements . I've looked in JCWhitney and it says that their carpet is "a close match to the original": I don't want poorly fitted carpet ! And I know the odds of finding any good at a junkyard are almost nil . Suggestions please!! Gracias amigos !!

is your current rug physically damaged, or just dirty to the point you don't think it will come clean?

Do a search for posts by Randman1. He replaced the carpet in his 93 SSEi about a year and a half ago. He found a great supplier. The carpet didn't fit correctly on the first install, so he sent it back, they modified the mold, and shipped him a new one that fit much better.

I threw out the old carpet - it was disgusting and I don't think it was worth saving . This car has been my 70 something year old mother'* and she just drives it . I had been living out of state at the time the problem began and she claims she '* helpless to do anything about such things . So , the carpet got nasty smelling and moldy and now I'm stuck dealing with it . Thanks for the leads and I'll investigate them .

Just a secret on carpet cleaning that I'd like to pass on:
For years my wife has used Dow Tub and Tile cleaner (yes, the scrubbing bubbles) to clean the caprets of all our cars with fantastic success.
Test a spot under a seat first to make sure it won't discolor then have at the tuff stains!

Hi guys. I rarely visit here but do drop in from time to time,, so forgive me bringing up an old post, but I thought Id offer my opinions.

I have and still do auto upholstery profesionally for 10+ years. The ONLY carpet supplier we use is ACC. You can find them on the web at http://accmats.com/

They are in my opinion the leading aftermarket supplier. Our Bonnevilles use a Mass back carpet. That basically means that the backing of the carpet is a thick rubber type backing. A cheaper backing is available and will work just as well. The carpet in our cars have plastic strips along the edge that snap into the body that help hold the carpet in place. I know of NO aftermarket supplier that places these on their carpets. All aftermarket carpets will require some trimming to fit, but as I previously stated, I prefer ACC.

To find them you may be able to visit your local auto upholstery shop and ask them if they sell ACC. Hope this helps.
