Default best place?

for us R-12 AC users to get charged up? they (MIdas) told me I should get it converted, I don't want to just yet; I have a coo co-worker who has a couple of pounds of R-12 I'm relying on him last though, is thier anywhere I can get this charged w/o being converted?

I've got a 30 lb. jug of R12 that I'm willing to let go for about $1200!! Brand new with the valve still wrapped in plastic and the box in new condition!

Realistically, check ebay for R12. It can still be found out there and since you live in the States you won't have any shipping issues.

You need ounces, Mista. The system should be evacuated first (removal of non-condensable gases), then a drop test (checking system integrity) for a certain lenght of time. Then the system needs to be re-filled with the correct amount of R-12, and copmressor oil. The last thing would be a leak check (with a/c system pressed up) with halo torch, or refrigerant leak detector. This should all be done by a professional a/c mech. fuddy has posted articles in detail about automotive a/c.
