Default name that part!

OK....i started gutting my airbox today...in the process of putting it back on I failed to re-apply a big hunk of insulation...i'm not too worried about it....but what is the part between the airbox and fender?....it was silver and had air fins(AC?)....the fins are what made me lose my concern for the insulation..seems it blocked the fins if anything.....any concern?,,,am I wrong?

It sounds like you're describing the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
There should be a plastic protective cover on that.

Oh man.. Mark won the contest before anyone saw it. That is indeed the PCM. It is very important and controls every bit of your engine, it'* performance and a good part of your controls.

Be nice to it, and go buy it a cover from a junk yard
