Default Fuel line keeps blowing off

When I replaced my fuel pump a few months ago, the main fuel line from the tank to the fuel filter had a bad connector. So, I replaced with a rubber line and hose clamps. About a month ago, it blew off while my wife was on the way home at a light. I reconnected it and tightened as much as reasonably possible. Today, we came home from the store, and apparently it came off again! I can't find a listing for a factory connector anywhere. Help!

You can't run rubber fuel line directly to the metal line. Without the barb at the end of the metal line, the rubber line will just slip right off at high pressure.

I have now learned that lesson! Fortunately, the part arrived and was right.

I completely agree. Sometimes we don't realize things until long after it happens.

It'* interesting that it was fine since the spring! Especially since the replacement pump motor didn't work, I had to drop the tank AGAIN, and that time, I replaced the whole assembly.

What brand of pump are you using?

Considering they are half the cost of a name brand pump, I'd think they were junk just like Airtex.

I have a Spectra radiator that I'm happy with, not sure about their fuel pumps though. Seems from the above that it was putting out some kind of significant pressure though.
