Ive got it back up for now .I use some epoxy mix to hold my triangle peaces in place finally. There is a aluminum peace on the lower part of the shaft that appeirs to be broken. The column steal seems to be loose at the bottom but the steering is back to normal for now.

mine was loose the next day after i fixed it looks like im gonna clean the triangle pieces and use an epoxy on them. the lower is another bracket that has bolt holes with threads look near your brake pedal its in that area above it wish i had a pic for you and myself as i have arthritis in my neck and i cant look down that far to fix it. so i hope some one has some input for us both.

How about some pictures guys, triangle pieces...lol.. that doesn't sound familiar.

There are IIRC 3 bolts inside the column that hold it in place. When they loosen the whole wheel will move and it'* dangerous to drive. To fix that situation the wheel, multi switch and a few other things come out, then you tighten the bolts and put the column back together.

My 1998 column is broken (little aluminum bracket) at the firewall inside. Idler pully broke & car died. I had a towing co. take it home & put it in my garage. He broke the mount (my opinion) by turning the steering wheel with the car not moving. Now I'm having security issues. That is, the car not recognizing my key. Very frustrated. I'm getting a used column this weekend from a 99 bonne. Hopefully, I can make it work.

The "used" column from craigslist was also broken at the bottom. I have yet to find the time to mess around with it. Maybe this week. I'll get some pics posted once I get into it.
