Default Frusteration, Please help

Here is the story,
I have a 95 bonne, and so far i have changed motors (all new gaskets throughout (75,000km), plenum, alternator, calipers, brake pads, fuel filter, tranny filter, plugs, wires.
I now have quite a few issues left to fix, such as: Brakes are spongy (major pedal travel), the coolant lines for the tranny seem to be leaking, Sometimes the RPM jumps (in park mostly) but sometimes while braked, My trip odometer started locking up on 9'* in the fraction of a mile count, and now my regular odometer doesn't work right, There is a vibration in my front wheel (hopefully not a bearing(I am checking tomorrow) and it needs new shocks and struts.

Is this car going to be worth the hassle of fixing it? I'm scared of what else might be waiting to happen. I have my imagination set on ball joints, rear brake pads, and power steering lines ( i think they are leaking as well).
I am about 2500$ into this car, not counting the 1300$ i paid for it. I desperately want to believe all this fighting will be worth it. Both times this car seemed good were excellent times for me, but I think its falling apart faster than I can keep up with it.

I guess my question is, if I do repair all of this, what does everyone thing will need to be done next? lol

Any tips on work needing to be done, or predictions for the future would be appreciated.
Have a good night everyone.

How'* the body on it? Rockers ok? Any rust on the underside. It sounds like it just needs a little bit more TLC and then it will be good to go. Really, it depends on the body. If the body is in good shape, then I would go ahead and fix it up nice. Maybe down the road you could sell it and recoupe some money.

Not sure about your idle though. If it started after the engine change, it could just be the PCM learning the idle, or a sporadic vacuum leak.

I agree with Mike, if the body is good, and you can do the work yourself, keep it. But if the body is falling apart or you have to have someone else do the work, might be better to cut and run.

Bleed the brakes, if that'* not it, then rebuild the master cylinder. Find the leak on the trans lines, replace lines or tighten/seal connections. Does the front vibration get stronger when braking? Could be a warped rotor. RPM jumping sounds like a vacuum leak, locate and fix. Those are all easy repairs. Not sure on the trip and odometer.

Well this car was country driven a lot. She has seen her fair share of grid roads etc. It needs new headlights because they all have chips in them. I got them sealed with silicone, but I mean, really, silicone!
Under the doors, more so at the back, there is rust and peeling, but it is isolated to mostly the car body. I believe it just needs a sanding and cleaning up. It became all crappy from the tires tossing rocks at the underside. I got a dent where this damn chick at work backed into it about 3 days after I swapped the motor, and was finally driving the damn car after about 3 months of ownership. The dent is right by the gas cap, about half a foot forward from that. It wont suck out, so it may need to be drilled and dent puller-ed. I cant get to it from the trunk, there is a metal brace or something in the way of any real leverage to take a whack at it from inside.
Its deff not a terrible car, (btw my cruise stopped working too), but it always seems to have me running. Ever feel like your car owns you? Well me too man! lol
Few cracks on the, I dunno what to call it. Its like a strip along the bumper. This summer I am going to hit a few scrap yards, and hope to get lucky. Around here its almost hard to find this car in a wreckers.
Aside from that, the undercarriage area seems sound. I still need to jack it up and try wiggle the tires. It has been like -30c here with a pretty bitey wind chill, so I have been bucking the chore. lol

Well Dan, I see that I forgot to address 90% of your ideas here, so I will fix that now.
I have bled the brakes (Two times since I bought new calipers). I'm not losing any brake fluid, so its annoying trying to find out whats wrong with the brakes. It pulls right when braking and accelerating (The front driver wheel is the one I suspect with issues). If I didn't know it was on tight, I would say it sometimes feels like the lugs are on at about 50% and the wheel is wobbling. Makes the whole car shimmy. I can hear my tools in my tool box in the truck clinking around when it happens (Which isn't always).
The trans is quite clearly leaking from the cooling lines. They are soaked, and small beads of red fluid are on them. I will need to get new ones :(.I hope they arent those type of hoses that you ask for and they go sure NP, bring you them, and say something outrageous like "that will be $78.95 plz".
Dan, the vibration is mostly only present when going between 60 and 110 km per hour (prolly between 40 and 65 American lol) I also notice that it shows a little when you rapidly accelerate. It always wants to pull u right. I'd love to say warped rotor, but deep inside I'm fearing it will be a bad bearing, or maybe a ball joint issue.
The RPM jumping only happens once in a blue moon. Can a vacuum leak only happen sometimes? My car for the most part is running like a champ, but from time to time it seems really bagged out and does the RPM thing. I can stop the car, buy a drink, fire her up, and be good to go again though. Its been hard to diagnose, as it is never very reliably problematic.

Sounds like you need to rebuild or replace the master cylinder.

Check for play on the front wheels.

Ya, a cracked line can leak sometimes.

LoL @ a cracked line can leak. Is that a proverb Dan?
I want to run something past you guys. I just got the opportunity to possibly get rid of Bonne, and grab a 95 or 97 olds 88. My dad isn't sure what year, but were pretty sure its 95. About 150k on it. It was my grand parents car. Garage stored always, barely driven. Leather interior. I haven't seen the car in a few years, But when I seen it I remembered commenting that it was a pretty nice car. It was always maintained by CAA, and always had its routine stuff (oil changes etc) done promptly.
The issue is this. I'm not sure I want to sell my bonne unless I can recover a good bit if not all of the money I put in (minus cost of the car), because I sort of still owe my dad for a good bit of it. He suggested the car, vouched for the guy selling it, and then felt bad for doing it. lol
My bonne is in great shape now except for: it needs new shocks struts, possible brake master cylinder, this random RPM issue (I'm sure no one would notice >), oh yea and the odometer.
It has some under the door surface rust from grid roads like I said up there. The question is, would anyone here be tempted if they seen an ad for a bonne such as this, but had a slew of new parts.
The motor has about 85,000 kms on it, fully redone (every gasket). New plenum (with small pipe). Brand new alternator, New plus and wires. New oil pan gasket. New tranny ffilter, and tranny pan gasket. new fuel filter. New calipers and brake pads.
I also plan on including some bonne specific parts, as I am pretty sure the new ride has a 3.8 v6 also, so I will need to look and see what can go and what can stay.
The motor cost me 1600$, the plenum was 200, the alt was around 300$ ( I may keep this if it swaps to the olds, Brakes and stuff were probably around the 140$ mark.
I see people selling them here for around the 1500$ mark for alright ones, and upwards of 3000$ for nice ones. If, with all these new parts, I put it up for lets say $2500 obo, who thinks that would be reasonable.
I am half tempted to hit a wrecker, and see about a cheap 3.8, swap it out, and keep the one I paid dearly for. If I could pay my dad back and have enough to get a nice DVD deck for the olds, I would so do it.
Keep in mind I probably wont be quite as forth coming about the car'* issues in a private sale. 99.9% of the time it runs like a top. The other 0.01% it does that little RPM flutter in park. Its barely noticeable.
Opinions please!

Oh yea, if I had to give the car a 1 to 10 rating for interior, It would be a 9.2 out of 10. No cracks rips fades or anything. The only problem is the rear vents, someone cracked the guard on it. I assume kids putting their feet up.

Can't say much, I have a coworker that has a 88, he seems to like it. Looks a lot like my Bonneville, just a bit more stripped down.
