Swapping 3800 S2 for S1
Hey guys, this isn't for a bonneville, but it seems you have more knowledge about the L27'* than others. I picked up a '95 Buick Regal with the L27, most likely the engine is bad (haven't picked the car up yet) and i've got a couple L36'* laying around in the garage. Is it possible to swap just the SII longblock and use the SI intake/exhaust manifolds? Or would the whole motor have to be swapped in?
If I do have to swap the whole motor, will it take a lot of wiring to get it running right? Not looking to go supercharged with this car (got a '97 GTP for that), just want to get it running right and save some $$$ since i've already got the motors.
Thanks in advance.

The L27'* have one cylinder offset from the other two, the S2 has all three symmetrically spaced. This keeps the parts from being swapped w/o doing some serious fabrication.
EGR was located on the front of the motor S1 and back of the motor for S2'*. The wiring part is possible if you use just one knock sensor vs the two and make some changes.

Sweet, thanks for the info guys. If necessary, i'll just see if I can pick up an L27 from a yard for $400. Would like to have the series 2 with ~40 more HP, though.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I don't run EGR on my cars, gunks up the intake too much. Especially on the GTP, because it'* intercooled.
