SLE'* can have SSE wheels.

Think of an SSE as the SSEi, all options EXCEPT (normally) the Supercharger.

The SLE is an SE with about half those options.

Then the SLE replaced the SSE. Any year the SSE and SLE coexsisted, the SSE has SSEi exterior trim, the SLE has SE exterior trim.

Not quite true. The SLE never shared the SE trim, but it was similar. It has it'* own unique cladding. Beefier than the SE, but not as beefy as the SSE/SSEi.

Good point.

In 93, the SLE package appeared with extra flares by the wheel wells (which were available in 92, but no H4U RPO to designate SLE) when compared to the SE lower trim and a different grill. In 94/95, the grill came on all SEs, regardless of SLE package, so the only external difference would be the flares. Maybe wheel options, too, I don't know. Cross-laces may have only been available with SLEs. Internally, you typically got traction control, leather, some other stuff. Oh, I'm sure spoilers were standard on SLEs, optional on SEs.

oh where to start on this one..........

SSE
you have the same gague cluster as the SSEi with out the Boost, replaced with the volt gague, you could strip down a SSE but you would still have the SSE gague cluster, no matter how much you stripped down the SSE.....you could get an SSE with the same option as the SLE, but you would still have the SSE gague cluster and the ELC.

SLE
you have the same cluster that you would have with an SE, now on a SLE, you got these options standard with a 1SD package (1SC will be similar)
Power seats
Remote keyless entry
decklid realease
Illum, entry
power mirrors
inside illuminated visors
cruise control
leather wrap steering wheel
lamp group (rear reading, under hood, chime-tone gen, passenger assist straps, and headlamp on warning)
twilight sentinel
rally gagues with tachometer
AM/FM stereo
power antenna

the H4U group consisted of these options
Bucket Seats w/console
Leather Seating Areas
Custom trim group
trunk security net
uplevel carpeting and floor mats
Monotone applique and rocker moulding
16" alum. wheels
P225/60R16 touring tires
rear window Defrogger
rear decklid spoiler

The ONLY OPTIONS that you could add to a SLE package was:
moonroof
6 Speaker 'Perfromance Sound"
traction control

in the years 93-95 crosslace were the ONLY wheels that an SLE could have in the 96-96 the SLE'* got the 5 star'* or the crosslace in 98 the T stars got added to the Wheel options

the 93 SLE grille was the only grille that was available on the SLE, and in 94-95 the SLE grille got shared through out the SE and SLE models

here is a pic of the SLE Rocker moulding that was used on the 93-95 SLE'*

NOW on to interesing notes on the history of the SLE package
92
there was NO "SLE" package but a sport appearance group available with the N10 High Flow exhaust
93
First year of the SLE package H4U option group, as listed on the orignal window sicker as well as the RPO codes
the N10 high flow exhaust was only available on the SLE
there was a $500 Value group discount for ordering the 1SD and the H4U package together

94
ECC became available on the SLE

95-97
The L67 became available with the SLE
CCR became available on the SLE

98-99
the SLE shares the body cladding with the SSE and the SSEi.
first year that the SLE had badges put on the doors
all SLE'* have dual exhaust

00-03
SLE'* become there own VIN replacing the SSE

04-05
SLE'* share there body cladding with the GXP
