Default Plenum replacement now no start !!!!

:? Help !!!

I originally had a leaking elbo on my intake and intermittant starting on my 97 Bonneville. To make a long story short, I have replaced the upper Plenum , had the Heads sent out for a valve job. After putting it all back together, it didi not start, no spark. I replaced the Crankshaft and Cam sensors. It started and ran rough, lots of white smoke which I attributed to the coolant than ran into the exhaust when the Plenium ruptured. I drove it 5-10 miles and when I shut it down(for 15-30 min.) it will not start. The weird thing is that the Power windows will not work. I checked all fuses and nothing is blown. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What shorting bar? This is a new one on me. Another difference between the Series 1 and 2?

And did you drain the oil IMMEDIATELY after the upper plenum failure? I hope so.

Default smoke

drain the oil as mentioned. if there is coolant present you may have to flush out the pan. By now the clylinders must be cleaned out. Did you replace the lower intake gaskets?

If you didn't drain the oil after the plenum failure, or didn't drain it soon enough, the damage is already done.

Gotcha. I remember that. One note, slightly off topic:

You don't have to bench-test the fuel pump. There'* a test contact provided in the car for it to determine if it'* running, and also determine if the relay works right It'* a built in feature. If you have it, there'* a green single wire connector tucked behind your battery.

Does the white smoke smell like gas? That is indicitive of a rich fuel condition (leaky injector(*) or a ruptured FPR diaphram.

I found my White Smoke problem. If you ever change your Plenum make sure you install the PVC, I never did and the intake was sucking all the oil out of the motor. I drained it today and it only had 1 1/2 qts in the pan. I had good oil pressure though. I changed the oil and ran it a good hour and it is all back to normal.

Just turned out to be a major job to replace my leaking elbo on the front of the manifold:

Sent the heads out for valve job and mill check( I thought I blew the Head gaskets)
Replaced the Plenum, original problem-ruptured.
Had 2 no start conditions, Crankshft and Camshaft sensor replaced. The second
was a no start, no power windows. This was from the corroded Shorting Bar or
Ground Bar under the drivers rug near the sill plate- danp and corroded.

This Board was a tremendous help and I have to thank you all. Cheers !!!
