Default My car is good to me once again...

All this "running like doo-doo" stuff is finally over with!

Put my car on a Ventronic'* engine analyzer scope today and watched all 6 cylinder'* firing events on the scope. Come to find out, all 3 coil packs were shot. We swapped the coil packs off of the '98 Intrigue and WA-LA! No more stumbling under load, no skipping, etc. So now I gotta go get some new coil packs this week and return these ones back to school when I'm done. The funny thing is, one of my coil packs that we swapped out was already an aftermarket one (obviously replaced some time before I bought the car last summer). That one was the worst of all three. The spark waveform on the scope for that one showed some serious abnomalities while viewing the waste spark wave form in comparison to the companion cylinder'* normal firing event. All in all, it was a good topic for our lab today as it was a real-world driveability problem.

On another note, I still have to look into the fuel pressure fluctuation though. I'm gonna start with a new fuel filter and see what I come up with.

Thanks to those that were lending their knowledge and opinions on what was the root of my problems. On a good note, I mashed the gas many times today, with minor knock retard at full boost that only happened a couple times. I got more KR with the stock pulley last fall and NGK plugs. I've since dropped to a 180 t-stat, homemade CAI, the 2.4, and brand new Bosch wires, MAF screen had to go back in though, and a recent MAF and TB cleaning. I guess the 2.4 pulley works out just fine for me! And boy does she pull hard... Very surprised about the very limited KR. I thought I was going to have a lot as eveyone was telling me I was going to have with the 2.4, but having those bad coil packs from the get-go was not allowing me to make really good power. I'm happy now.

glad to hear that your major problem is solved. now it makes me more anxious than ever to get my 2.4 pulley on. i see that you have an intake, but if you havent opened up your exhaust yet you might wanna do that so you can drop the rest of your kr
