Default who has replaced their torque converter?

my car has 135K miles on it, and i think that the torque converter is wearing out. could it be the converter? because @ 40 mph (64kph) the engine doesnt drop in RPMs, like it should. i was just wondering how much it cost you.

When you say drop in RPM'* ,do you mean it doesn't shift into 3rd or 4th gear?

Mine doesnt switch into overdrive until about 49 mph and it also has trouble going into overdrive sometimes, usually only on long trips. Try going to a tranny shop and see if they will diagnose your problem for free or just a small charge. Check the wiring harness, pcm, and if its that those things, most likely its the tcc
