I have a 96 SSEi and I really don't know much about alternators but I do know I'm most likely going to need a higher output one to support my car stereo. I've been looking at ohiogen.com and mralternator.com. What info will I need to give these places so they know what fits?

I guess this is good learning experience for me... I will not be putting this in... i'll have a shop do it. Also are there any risks involved in swapping them out?

I do plan on getting a red top along with the alternator as well.

thanks
adam

just tell them that you have a Series 2 L67. there is 3 bolts and one connection to remove, and then reinstall, it takes 5 minutes to install the alternator, do it yourself

Thanks a ton... you've been alot of help. I really want to put the alternator thing off but I might as well do it 100% right the first time. and plus it'* tax refund time so i should be able to swing it!

That'* the L27 yes, but an L36 is MUCH harder... Many more bolts, and an engine mount. Dunno where an SII */C lies.
