Post Transmission change question

Hi,

So I'm finally going to get a 100k miles 1995 4T60E-HD.

While it'* out of the car and I have free play all around, is there something I should consider changing before installing it?

I'm not talking about a complete rebuild because I just don't feel like I can handle it, but maybe some seals, solenoids, stuff like that. Of course, I'll change the oil and filter, that'* pretty obvious.

Talking about that, is there a way to really "flush" tranny oil or changing it pretty much sums it up?

Thanks a lot for any and all answers!

If you want that trans to last a lot longer, I suggest dropping it off to a trans shop to have it rebuilt. Don't be scared. 90% of costs for trans rebuilds is because of the labor to remove it. If you drop it off, its only going to cost you parts and labor to rebuild. That'* it.

I can't think of anything to change while its out. The solenoid issue is with the 4T65-E'* I think.

You don't want to "flush" a trans as normal service. You end up removing a lot of "material" that stays in the fluid. Just drop the pan, replace the filter, and put in new Dex 6.

Alright, thanks a lot, I'll be checking for that eventually.

For now I feel much safer with my tranny issues with a "technically functional" spare one.

I'll have to get the right driveaxles since I don't presently have a "HD" though.
