Airbag Light stays on.
Ok, this is what happened. I as first had not poblems with my airbag light. Then intermittently under hard acceleration the light would come on and go off after I resumed normal driving. It has regressed to the point that the light is not on anytime I am driving. The airbag has not lown up in my face so far so I must be safe(at least till I crash into someone.

my airbag light came on out of no where one day....it stayed on a while and i got scared that it might deploy at random so i pulled the fuse - and of course doing that will make the light stay on.
After you take the fuse out there is still a chance that the system can still deploy the bags since its still "hooked-up," but taking the fuse out just gave me a better peace of mind i guess lol

Wouldn't he have to take it to a dealer and have a diagnostic done on it? I know our typical code readers can't read airbag systems.
My Neon had a problem like that once. Light would randomly come on. Dealer replaced the SRS computer. (under warranty)

Pop the hood and take a look near the hood latch. not sure on your year, but on my 94 there is a little black looking box right in the front there which is one of the Airbag sensors. Mine is starting to get rusted. check yours for rusting as it may be time to replace the sensor.
It could be another airbag sensor too. You may also have the airbag sensor diagram on your radiator support (sticker)

On my ford the answer is NO, so please be sure to wear your seatbelts properly.

Im not sure, but the one sensor I have by the hood latch is starting to rust and I was told by a resident gearhead on here that the light will let you know first theres something wrong with the system before anything and it looks like your at that point now.
While im not an expert on the airbag system, I would definately go and get it checked out by someone you know in mechanics or your local Pontiac dealer.

Airbag light stays on.... was previously intermittant with hard acceleration.
The airbag module is located under the passenger seat. If there is a water leak and the front floor is wet...hard acceleration could push the water backward into the module causing an issue. Repeated wetting could cause a further issue.
Got wet floorboards?
