If you can't have two people for the brake bleed, use a hand vacuum pump. I did this when I did my brakes last winter and it worked very well.

Default Two things to keep in mind

If you bleed them with the two person method place one foot under the brake peddle do it doesn't go all the way to floor when you open the bleeder. Otherwise you run the risk of the piston overextending in the master cylinder and wasting the seal or at a minimum letting air into the system.

Also, the ABS unit may need to be reset. Had similar behavior after blowing a brake line in an emergency stop and had to reset ABS.
