I've been looking for a 95 Bonnie SE for a little while now, but never knew the problems with them were as bad as some people say. Here'* the question: Should I even be looking for a 95 SE (I've heard of problems w/ SSEs and up due to lots of electronics, so only SEs) w/ around 120-140k miles for around $2k, like I have been, or should I just aim for a 94 or older with a Series I in it? I kinda wanted that extra 30 horses, as I'm not much of a modder (neither the time, knowledge nor money to be so) but if there are THAT many problems with them, should I even bother? I have a 93 SE right now, and I love it, but because of recent events I can't justify putting any more money into her. Also, if a 95 is still a viable option, what should I look for in an inspection of a potential 95 SE so as to make sure I'll have a minimum of inherited problems? I have a mechanic I trust that I took my Bonnie I have now to when I was first looking at her, and he found a leak in the intake manifold gasket that got me a price reduction by the owner, but I still want to be able to check his inspections, just in case That way, I'll have no excuse if something ends up being screwed up! Wow, that'* all I have to say-wow! I was expecting your run of the mill "Well, check the overall condition of the car and go from there and..." sort of post. The only way you could have been more thorough was if you came with me and did it for me! LOL, thanks a bunch Mr. Administratorman! This forum'* a keeper!

BTW, I'm in Stuart, in Martin County on the East Coast I'd add Earth, Milky Way Galaxy, next to Cluster 78-E, but I figure you already know that...

That, my friend, is a long, sad story best left untold and unremembered, mostly for my own sanity'* sake :( Suffice it to say that my stupidty caused it, and I'm in the market for a '95 because of it :( Trust me, not the car'* fault Anywho, one thing I just thought of to ask, though: Has anyone had problems with interior leakage around the back doors on their 93s or other years? Mine has some, didn't notice it when I bought it, unfortunately, but it hasn't really been a problem. The area, beneath the RR door where the floor meets the plastic molding, does get wet when it rains, however. I put towels in the gap to dry it out, but it is worrisome nonetheless. I had an opportunity to get a Series I or Series II n/a car for basically the same price. I had already heard about the Intake failures here, and they made me very wary of the engines. It'* a pretty relative easy fix, but After driving both, i felt the L27 had more kick down low, and would be more reliable. I knew it wouldn't have 1/4 of the aftermarket support, but that'* ok. I like to do things myself.

Yep. Mother nature and I were working on the problem just a couple of hours ago. She provided the downpour as I searched for the leaks. Found 2. In both cases, the door gaskets were a little crimped in one spot. This is to say that when they were removed for one reason or another, they were reinstalled improperly.

Also, I noticed a TSB that called for the addition of butyl rubber along the perimeter of the door opening to help with a leaking condition. There was plenty already globbed around all doors though.

Just thought of something: I don't suppose there'* a redesigned intake that one can buy to replace the crappy plastic ones, is there? You know, one made out of METAL by GM instead of PLASTIC by MATTEL? lol, just a thought...
