Instrument cluster does not light up. (94 Bonneville)
I just bought a used 94 Bonneville. I brought it home last night and discovered the instrument cluster does not light up. Headlights come on, and other interior lights work. The indicators on the left side (airbag, service engine, parking break, etc) illuminate correctly but the gas gauge, tachometer, and spedometer do not.
I check the fuse (9C, 10 Amp) and it seems to be alright. The manual does not specify a replacement bulb for the cluster, nor have I been able to discover where I am to insert one. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

Check all your fuses. I lost my dash lights when I installed my stereo (Tape off any unised wires, btw) and an odd fuse blew, taking the dash lights with it. It wasn't the dash light fuse...

Power to the instrument cluster backlights goes through a rheostat in the headlight switch. Yours might be toast. I just replaced my headlight switch for $40 and my instrument cluster lights no longer flicker. The old rheostat was pretty corroded.
Here'* the procedure if you want to pull out the switch and look at it. It took me about 20 minutes to get mine out. You'll need a Torx 15 bit. The procedure doesn't mention this, but I had to put my gearshift into drive in order to pull the trim panel off.
