Default ABS Problem, Do I have to fix?

Yesterday, I checked my bonneville up at Speedy.
The mechanic Said, I have to fix the ABS as soon as possible, because the malfunction of the ABS pumb would mess up the entire regular brake system.

But, When I asked to ohter mechanic near the speedy, he said it was ok..
Malfunction of ABS is just the problem of ABS, not the regular brake system.

So.. I am confused..

Do I have to fix or not?
Tell me true :( :?

NO! Your regular brakes will work fine even without the ABS. It'* designed that way so some crappy little black box can't take away the brakes. ABS is cool, though, and you live in Cleveland, so I'd consider fixing it before winter. Otherwise, you're fine.
