Sounds like a bad wheel speed sensor. Could possibly be the wiring too. But, most of the time its the sensor. That is built into the wheel bearing which is what you would need to replace.

First scan it to find out what code was set and which side. Then use an ohm meter on the pigtail of the harness and twist the wire around and see if you get sparattic readings.

My Snap-on will scan into ABS codes, as long as they are in the memory

An intermittent ABS issue is going to most likely be due to a flaky WSS (hub assembly). The trick is figuring out which one without a scan.

I suggest disconnecting and cleaning all 4 WSS connectors for starters.
