Question MAF sensor when it'* connected, Car immediately stalls at idle

I looked the best I could not to start a thread that might of been started I couldn't find anything the same as this ,but if i missed it I apologize, here is the situation, My 1993 Bonny SSEI 97,500 kms it increasing got rougher over time(months), and the car would start to stall out after surging idles rough cold and warm It would idle out idling in a drive thru,stops etc Out on the road this car would fly no problems
I unplugged the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the idle was pretty good compared to what it was before I did this and then i left the car over nite with MAF unplugged and when I turned it over in the am it was a better idle less rougher by 30 % So I reconnected the MAF sensor and it went back to the surging rough idle struggling to stay on, The next day I then changed the wires and plugs I unhooked the battery when I did this work and the MAF as well was unplugged So then once the plugs & wires were done I turned the car over and it ran very well not as smooth as I would like but 90% better and then when I plugged the MAF sensor back in and it killed the motor right away I can drive the car without it in no problems at all
Is a sure sign that it is a defective MAF sensor is my question ? Can cleaning it with a maf sensor cleaner get it took work ? If this is indeed the problem ? Why was the maf not killing the engine before I did the plugs wires and now after the wires etc the Maf sensor kills the motor right away once plugged in ? Is buying a used MAF ok ?

HI sounds like you do in fact have a bad sensor there.
Take a look at this for more help.

Have you tried cleaning your MAF?

Inspect the wire on the sensor. It'* a very fine wire so do not touch it. If it'* broken then you will need a new sensor. From the sound of it cleaning it may not fix this problem. But it is worth a try.

The same thing happened to me, I unpluged the MAF sensor and the car did ok, but it turned out not to be the sensor but dirty fuel injectors. Got them clean and everthing was back to normal.

Thanks But again the "Bonny " run fine without it plugged in But if the car is running and you plug it in the car dies right away unplug fires up perfect I have not got it yet re/re as I was not able too work on it I think once I get it off today I will find either broken wire or it is just dead Sensors fail;

I took it out cleaned it was looking in good shape all intact and I forgot one step *(got ill for about 3 days when i was doing this repair) WHICH was try starting the car with the Mass Air Flow plugged in after I cleaned it So I did that today and had to give it gas to start but it stayed running irregular idle then I drove it 50 km and had no problems also I stopped and waited and restarted just has hard time starting on its own need to give it gas then it runs fine on the road

So I guess it is not the sensor >MAF (FYI which mine is and all ? are made in japan ?) anyways Now i have no clue drives great but irregular idle so i am thinking cleaner the egr valve/? (where ever that is & the fuel filter replace and IAT sensor maybe clean it ? I think it is called find that and clean it Not sure what else to do
