Default ABS isn't my friend

i am having some problems with my abs in my 93se.
Sometimes my abs light will come on 20 seconds after I start driving, sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes when I hit a bump, sometimes never. But the main thing that scares me is, I start up my car, immediately start driving, and the first time that I go to hit the brakes, it feels like the brake pedal comes up really high for a second, then i will lose almost all brake pressure for another 2 seconds, then brakes will be back to normal and the ABS light will now come on. This usually only happens when I am in a rush (delivering pizzas) and I don't wait at all to start the car with the key in the ON position. Could this be my prob? do i just need to wait for a few seconds in the on position, or do i have some abs problem. could it be a relay or a sensor?? please help it will be appreciated.

Well I dont know if this is the exact thing that happend to me or what but... Before I changed my master cylinder .. the piston inside it would seeze and my brakes would stay fully applied until I let go of the pedal. And my ABS light would come on. Maybe your MC is leaking or it is dirty... I would suggest you look for leaks and if you dont find any I would flush my brakes , bleed etc.
Good Luck.

humm.. if it'* intermittant.. it maybe a speed/wheel sensor within the hub. Could be wrong though ( which I have been before.. but I think if it'* a mechanical thing.. it usually works.. or it doesn't unless it'* something electronic ( which leads to the speed sensor ) or loose wiring )

Do check the brake fluid and see what color it is and try wat Russian polar says ( cheaper then wheel sensor which means you'll have to replace the the whole unit cause it doesn't separete from the bearing )

If the ABS light comes on, then retrieve the ABS codes. Autozone may be able to do it. If not them, you need to take it to someone who can do it.
