Default ABS dash light came on...

This just happened today.
Yesterday I applied the brakes 'briskly' a couple of times to see how they did. Fine, no problems.
Today as I pulled into the gas station, my right rear wheel caught the corner of the curb a bit, but not real hard.
I left the station and a few minutes later I noticed the ABS light was on.
I checked the brakes a couple more times the same way as yesterday and nothing seems weird except the light won't go off.

Are these incidents coincidental, or do they tie in somehow?
Lead me to any links or answers here as to what I need to do to get this problem solved.
Thanks.

Get underneath and see if the umbilical to the RR wheel speed sensor got jarred loose or damaged. Hopefully it IS coincedental. That'* the cheapest part of the ABS system. It can run over a grand to fix the expensive stuff.

My light comes on all the time , but it works fine and it goes away after I restart the car. Should I have it checked out? Not ALL the time mayb once every 3 or 4 weeks.

Sounds like some crud in a bearing messing with your wheel speed sensors. Try a MILD pressure washing behind the hubs. Use the low pressure systems at a do it yourself car wash. Anything more can be too destructive.

I'll get her checked out. It always works. Never had a problem , just the light. I'll try the wash too . She is a little dirty . There is a plce in NY that lifts the car and the steam pressure it for 40.00 . They do a GREAT job.

I blocked the wheels (...always do that, guys!...) and checked the hookup, which was intact.
Taking the car to the dealer to have the ABS checked under the extended warranty as the sensors are covered by that.
We'll see how good the warranty is...

$50.00 with the extended warranty; price of diagnosis and repair covered!
Damn, I'm happy with that.

The problems?
3 codes, not listed on the repair sheet.
LF inlet valve; RR no speed signal; ABS pup run error / replaced ABS pump relay and erased the codes.
Other codes may be itermittent and new parts were not installed at this time.

Oh, and my coolant was listed as 'gross' ...

Flush and change that old coolant out before it eats your water pump!

That'* next on the list along with the 180F Thermostat and Trans Cooler upgrade/changeover.

OK, I got some green stuff (Prestone) and a 180F Thermostat.
Drain and flush. Voila! Well, maybe just drain and do the big flush later, we'll see, time permitting.
