99 SSEi got tranny code when checked out
Hey guys here I am again. In my 1999 SSEi I took it to the dealer and got it scanned. Well tranny code popped up. They are saying that it might be the valve body being clogged and if worst comes to worst the car tranny might need to be replaced. The transmission shifted smooth through all the gears before 3rd went out, and it went out all of a sudden. Hopefully you guys can see what would be the best thing to do.
The fluid is lt. pink and they said had no burnt smell too it.

Brainstorming
1. Is it drivable? If it is, I'd try running some Trans-X through it, driving as hard as you dare. Change the fluid and filter afterward. If the valve body is clogged, you might be able to flush it out that way, and get the clog to disappear or go into the torque converter. I've used this on older GM automatics with no problem when there was rough shifting.
2. If it'* not drivable, you might be able to have the valve body worked on while the tranny is in the car. Not sure, since I had them swap in a reman instead of waiting for work to be done.
3. Check the tranny pan for pieces of gears. When reverse went in my Olds 88, I found smashed up chunks there. -_-
