Default High oil pressure reading

For some odd reason, I was concerned why my oil pressure gauge would read 100lbs and then fluctuate to around 80- 100 and then once its warmed up it goes to about 60 lbs to 80. Any reason why the oil pressure reads 100lbs at times. I use the mobile one 15,000 mile synethic now and seems to make it more consistent in oil pressure reading but still would read up to 100lbs. is this to much oil pressure?

It seems high to me, but i can't say for sure as I think I have an issue with mine still. Mine reads between 40 and 60 I believe when it wants to work correctly. Mine does jump occasionally to 100 when I start it up. I was told by people on here that is was the oil pressure sending unit going bad. I have yet to replace it, but have it on the list.

You might also want to check the PCV valve is there is one on this car. I had an older car that had a very similar problem and the cause turned out to be a clogged PCV valve and it was not letting the pressure out of the engine. Might want to check into that too.

thank you for all your reply'*. I will take them inconsideration. I just ordered a new PCV value and maybe also thats why its not passing the MD. emission inspection as well.
