Default 97 ssei seat swap

Wondering if it'* possible to swap the drivers side seat to the passenger side and vice versa. I didn't check to see if the seat belt is attached or not. After 220xxx miles the passenger seat seems to have more support and cushion . Any help is appreciated. Thanks

it'* easy to fix a non-supportive seat. The cushion has been cut through by the springs. If you don't want to tear the seat apart to fix, just slip some matting material inbetween the springs and cushion. This will keep the springs from sinking into the cushion. Ideally you want to put some adhesive in the cushion where the springs have cut, but you don't have to.

Think of the cushion as a junk of butter, and the springs as knives. What you are doing is placing a piece of material inbetween the knife and butter, so the knife can't get to the butter. Right know there is nothing between the knife and butter.

that won't help the seat (your rear end) support. I bet EVERYONE has this happening on their drivers seat to some degree. A good preventative step for everyone when they have their seats out. This would be easy to check without taking out the seat. Just stick you hand under the seat, feel for the zig-zag springs, and feel if they are cutting into the cushion

I have heard of someone swapping the seat belt over, but I think it was more work than value. I like the above method of slipping something in.

Its funny this should come up, as I just ordered a new drivers 'butt' cushion for my 99 SSEi, $46 shipped from GMpartsdirect.com.

You can not swap drivers and passengers because of you look the 'skirt' on the inside of the seat is shorter than the drivers to clear the exhaust hump. Will not work.

My new cushion should be here next week, it has to come out of Lansing Mi.

I bet you wouldn't need the cushion, unless it is rotting away.

The springs arent cutting into the foam, the foam has gone flat. I already checked it out with my mother inlaw who does interiors and home upholstery for a living. Her trick is to put burlap over the springs before putting the new foam down. But like I said, my foam has gone flat and lost its shape.
