Well, I just did my first ever car repair today!! I had some of my friends show me what to do. I had to replace the rear wheel cylinders cause they were leaking brake fluid REALLY bad. After we finished that, we flushed the back brakes. I asked them if we're supposed to flush the front ones too and the ABS (the guy at Firestone told me to do that), and they said the front and ABS didn't need to be flushed. Is this right, or should I bleed all of them? My brakes seem to be working fine now though :?

It definately wouldn't hurt to bleed your front lines also. I wouldn't worry about the abs pump and such. But while you are at it, cant do anything but help.

A true flush needs all 4 corners bled. Otherwise that old fluid sitting the calipers won't ever get cleaned out and it will eventually contaminate the fresh fluid you just put in.

Always start with the fartherst from the Master Cylinder and work your way to the shortest. ie - pass rear, drivers rear, pass front, drivers front (on most cars) and dont let the resevoir run dry but don';t use old fluid to refill it either.

With 124,000 miles has ANYone Ever checked or replaced the front brake lines on this car? Those are the rubber brake lines that go to the front calipers. They tend to rot out over time.
