Would bad Tranny mounts cause a tranny to shift improperly?

When I start from a light normally, the tranny seems to shift at the right times, but when I mash the pedal the tranny seems to shift a bit higher than norm.

My tranny is in "Normal shift" mode not "Performance shift" mode in case anyone was wondering.

What is higher than normal?

When you are requesting the motor to give you all it'* got...and the transmission is working with it. You are going to get much higher shift points.

For example (totally fictious)
If normal means 1,500-2,000rpms
Mashed should mean 4,700-5,200 rpms.

In addition, if your mounts were broken, there would typically (not always) be other symptoms.

Lash, I believe I have a LIM gasket leaking some oil and I need to replace it soon before the coolant starts geting in there. Coolant levels are right there so far and im keeping an eye on it. The first time ever looking under the car, everything under there was soaked with oil, including the tranny mounts. The rubber is all jellied, and I need to replace them soon.

Bill, From a stand still start, Mashing the pedal about 3/4 down it went from first to second right around 5K. From a stand still start driving normal, First to second shifted at around 2K.

about a month ago I posted about finding a peice of the Thrust seal in the tranny pan. So maybe that has somehting to do with it? I dont know for sure, but I need to get some CA$H quick in order to do my repairs before I end up making matters worse.

Higher shift points are completely normal. It'* how the engine/trans work together to make you move faster.

On the leaking LIM, I assume your brother helped diagnose it, because from the looks of the bottom of the motor..you need to clean it down and look for leaks before being able to tell what is or is not leaking.

Both my cars looked that same way when I got them. Impossible to tell what was leaking.

My Brother and I were poking around the engine compartment when the car was in the shop, and He noticed some new oil as well as old oil around the lower intake. The Oil pan Gasket also needs to be changed. Im hoping to get the car in soon for the oil pan gasket and an oil change. The intake will be a bigger job of course and my brother will have to make some shop time to do it with me.

My reason for asking is because oil seepage is much less common on the lower intake than it is on the valve covers. With that much wetness it is often extremely tough to determine the actual cause. If you cleaned it down and found it to be a valve cover issue, the cost and labor is much less than the lower intake gaskets. Engine cleaner is fairly low cost as well. Having a pretty clean engine is priceless.

When you change the oil pan gasket, be sure to use GM engine sealant for a good leak free seal.

The valve cover gaskets are fine and are not leaking any oil. I certainly here ya on doing the cheaper things first, which is why I want to do the oil Pan gasket first then see what im dealing with. But we did see some oil seepage on the LIM Gasket. I am going to try and get some pics when I get home from work today.

As far as wiping up the oil, when we did the tranny filter, my brother used a parts cleaner and cleaned the whole pan, and wiped down the oil pan. We havent been under the car since.

Im hoping to get the car in next week to do the oil pan gasket. My brother works for a GM dealership and has all of the GM lubricants and sealers. The tranny pan got a GM sealer that was red in color and gave the surface area a nice taky feel.

It'll take some time, but Ill get this Bonne tight in a few months!!
