Default Automatic Climate Control help

Hello all. I recently purchased a 1998 Black SSEi with 139K for $1000. Runs great but I have a flaky heat issue
I have read many of the posts here regarding the Automatic Climate Control issues (i.e. vacuum harness, air mix actuator etc.) but mine seems (emphasis on seems) a little different, When I first start the car, the actuator arm behind the glovebox starts to move towards warm (full passenger position) but stops. If I give it a little nudge with my long screwdriver, it will then function normally. Smooth movement back and forth corresponding to Hot and Cold settings. It will ALWAYS work after the initial nudge until the car gets cold again, then the process starts over. I have left the screws out of my glovebox for now so I can nudge the actuator arm when I need heat. Any suggestions??
P.*. I have tried to access the redneck fix, but it tells me "Forbidden" as if the link is not functioning

I feel its still your air mix actuator. The actuator will stop at the broken/split in the gear. When you nudge it, you move the gear past the broken/split part.

Thanks TODDSTER. That is my feeling as well. I think I will coax it along until it gets warmer here in Michigan again probably April or May. Any tips on getting it to stay in the Full HOT position all the time?

yes there is a quick fix for that..... the hole that is in the glove box, wait untill the heat is over to the hot side, and it should be pulled all the way over to the passenger side.
Just stick your long screw driver in the hole and pop the rod off of the plastic retainer clip. and that way your heat will be on all the way. Granted you wont be able to change the heat range. You will have heat all the time...... Mine is doing the same thing, and I just popped the rod off when it was at all hot air.....
Let me know if that worked for you.

Thanks for the tip. I did that today and Voila! I have heat all the time. Will it stay there as long as I do not physically move it?

Yes it will, then if down the road if you want to change the air mix acuator, there is a great posting on here that walks you through that. or if you dont, Then when the summer air is needed just reach inside there and push the vent all the way to the left side, and poof, you should have cool air.

Ha, listen to me, I sound like a pro, but I learned all of that from the great guys on here,,,,,,Danthrus, toddster, Billboost37, and others......
