Brakes, Round 3.
I was BS'n with one of the local mechanic'*, He said that my brake problems would probably be caused by air in the PMV getting pumped into my lines, Hence whenever I hit it hard my pedal feel gets worse. Said he got alot of these complaints and the mostly happened after people changed the MC.. So, I asked him how he got the air out of the PMV, He said to just try to lock up the brakes on some gravel, Bled'em, repeat.
Now, I figured there was no harm to be done by locking up the brakes so I went over to the closet gravel lot and tried to lock them up, Wow. Definatly some air in my lines now. I was also going to swap out my vacuum booster because i figured the shaft was too short, which would cause my pedal to never come to full height. Once I got under the dash to remove the bolts though, I found that at some point i had cracked my brake pedal and bent the heck out of it. Luckily I kept the pedal from the 94, They look exactly the same, I'll be installing the new pedal, stock VB, bench bleeding the MC and bleeding from there on out. Hopefully this should end my braking problems.

Braking much during Auto X huh? Damn braking a pedal...
Glad to hear you're brake woes might be near an end. Did you ever replace the lines? I'm considering doing mine next spring.

This is nice. I've got the VB, MC, and pedal back in. I haven't even bled it yet and I already love the pedal feel. The brake pedal now sits 5" off the floorboard versus the 1" before. Now I've just got to put the other two VB bolts on (I was excited to try it) put the Steering column back up, Install the IP, and giv'er a quick test drive. Then of course bleed the brakes.
I went to four different reputable shops, And Pete Mankins Pontiac in the last year trying to figure this out, all of those well trained people... and a hick from a little bitty shop knew how to fix it.... Crazy world...
Jason, New lines went on three or four weeks ago, Still looking for some SS/Teflon lines... I'm getting very good at bleeding the brakes....

Hmm... Got it put together enough to safely drive, Went for a run around the block. At the slightest touch of the pedal the VB pulls it down far enough to stop the car rather quickly from 30mph. Gonna have to do a little Section 5 reading....

I've got a brand new 8" MC installed, It'* bench bled but the lines still need bled. I'm thinking the VB return spring is weak or the shaft is damaged. Gonna have to switch out the VB with the one from the 94, The bell is longer but the shafts are the same.

Just fab up your own. Go to Advanced auto and ask for "GM Bubble Flare" lines. You can even bend the damn things with your hand! Grab a couple fittings to hook them all together, and you are done.

Anyway, Had a little time and got the VB swapped, This is brakes. The car is actually fun to drive now, instead of the fear of running into something... Still have to bleed them a few more times, But I'm now sure that it probably wasnt a bad MC in the first place, It was probably the air in the PMV.
