On Rock Auto'* site there is another UIM "ATP Part # 106001 {#17113136}" for $139 that looks like it includes the aluminum insert. Does the Dorman include that also or can I get it elsewhere for substantially less?

What are the best purchases I should make to cover everything for the least amount of money and that has fast shipping? If I purchase local, what am I looking for? I know to look for the aluminum gasket. We have NAPA, Auto Parts Plus, Murrays/O'Briens and Auto Zone local here.

Thanks for the help. I'm asking questions that I'd normally look up on my own, but as we are on the second death in our family in as many weeks - one expected, one not - I especially appreciate any guidance.

Thanks again!

The insert, fuel injector o-rings, pcv, gasket, is all included with the Dorman kit. It'* a great kit that I have used myself many times. There is always a discount code here or that can be googled.

The LIM gaskets dealer, Intense-Racing.com or ZZPerformance.com

Beyond that you'll need a couple cans of brake cleaner for gasket surface cleaning, some shop rags and RTV.

Guys,

Of course the problem was the EGR port seal which was cracked & degraded, but even worse was the small one beside it. Everything is finally back together and flushed with new oil and coolant. (Things don't go as fast as I'd want them as we had two deaths in the family.)

However, it will not start. I stroked all of the cylinders to TDC and blew them out with 110 psi air to dry them prior to installing the plugs, so it turns over but doesn't even want to try to start. I checked all of the cables, even rechecked my sparkplug wires, made sure the fuel rail was full, and even tried a shot of ether. Nothing.

Any ideas?

Plugs are probably still wet. It'* amazing how wet the cylinders can be..even with blowing them out.

Pull your front 3 plugs again. If wet..dry them off and put them back in. Once you have 3-4 cylinders firing it the rpm'* will be up and the other cylinders will dry out too.

Thanks, that'* what I'm off to do then. This winter storm is beginning to unleash it'* furry here in NW Ohio. I'm working outside and the wind gusts are up to 45MPH...fun.

I performed surgery on a Regal in Advance Auto'* parking lot one day. Being the nice guy. After tossing in fresh plugs we only had 1 maybe two cylinders firing. Took the fronts out, dried them and reinstalled. Got 3-4 cylinders and I held a bit of throttle til the others fired up and then blew the coolant out of the exhaust.

Enjoy looking like a stunt plane with smoke pouring out the exhaust for a while.
