Default Taking off Muffler/Exhaust heat shield..

The heat shield on top of the muffler rattles like crazy, mostlybecause of the fact that the bolts have all came out or rusted off however.. n its annoying.. real annoying. I could put a few bolts through it to the body of the car but id rather get rid of it all together if its not going to be an issue to anything. beause as of now, its lying on top of the muffler.

if it'* an aftermaket muffler, you could pull it out. there is enough room around the smaller aftermarket variety. If it'* an original, you better leave it. FInd some way of bracing it. even if you screwed straps to the outside edge and screwed to the frame

I had the same exact problem when I first got my car, and did the exact same thing. Haven't had any problems with it since, and it'* now about 2 years after the repair. It'* probably much easier than trying to take it out, and it'll keep your trunk cooler, in case you're carrying groceries

Pre-drill some small holes, and use self-tapping sheetmetal screws.
