Power Steering pump replacement
Since I am doing the UIM/LIM gaskets I will fix this at the same time. I had the local shop put a new one on Tuesday. I usually do all this stuff but am too busy as of late with Little League coaching and work and all. When I picked up the car it sounded ok but soon as it warmed up it was whining as bad as the old one. They said they changed it out again but I seriously doubt it. Just slightly turn the wheel and its whining very loud, louder than the old one! Now the steering wheel pulses at idle and will hardly turn, it shudders until you rev the engine a bit. So I am just going to change it out myself while the car is down. The steering was perfect before the pump change.
On this maiden trip with the car, the steering was terrible and when I shut it down at the Little League field to unload the cooler it would not turn over at all, as if the starter was hot, the security light was on. 20 minutes later I tried it and it started right up but with a very loud lifter/rocker arm/ clicking out of the firewall side valve cover. So I decided to go ahead and drive it home the 20 miles. About 3 miles out the clicking went away and it was silent until I was almost home then it came back. I will be replacing the valve cover gaskets while it is torn down as well so I guess a visual inspection is probably the best route for the lifter noise?
I drive the car daily and have had zero problems for 7000 miles but soon as I get something "fixed" I have all kinds of issues. Makes you think about the old saying if it aint broke dont fix it I used to hear. lol. Anyone had similar issues? Thanks guys.

Luckily I haven't had any major issues with my Bonne... I did replace the power steering pump like 6 months ago, it was a messy job. You'll need a pulley remover tool (free rental from AutoZone) and you'll have to raise the car and remove the passenger front tire and plastic inner fender lining. Once you remove the pulley the bolts holding the pump inplace are visible.
