You really need to get it on a scanner...
The 95'* have some issues for certain...
Does the car sputter at all when it stals or does it just shut off?
And do all of the gages drop or can you still see how fast you are going?

almsot sounds like a loss of Crank sensor signal or a Bad ICM...
Hard to say without tossing the scantool at it

i put a new crank sensor last week along with tp sensor , iac valve and pcv valve..still stalling on me..
so today i went to pepboys and paid $95 for a scan.. the car stalled 15 times during the 20 minute scan and the only code they can get is a history code for the vats system..
now they also said my ignition is reading at half the resistance load it should be.. it was reading at 0.4 when the guy said it should be reading 1.0 i also no that one of the keys i got was made as a spair from a regular locksmith who made the key with the chip in it to work with the car as the old owner wanted a spair just in case.. but i cant tell which is the spair and which is the original... does it make a difference if i use the key the locksmith maid.. ? will that key mess up the vats system?

My car also ran fine for a while and just quit. Now its down to running a few seconds and quitting.
Have you tried a fuel pump pressure check?
When the heat goes away (around 100F here) I am gonna change the fuel pump, strainer, fuel pump relay and filter.
Not to be dissing PepBoys but if I wanted a scan I would go to the Pontiac dealer.

The pellet in the key is just a resistor. As long as the pellets have the same resistance either key should work fine. If one of the keys were bad you wouldn't even be able to start the engine with it. Also the security system should never cause the car to stall.

I have even had the VATS codes on my 95 with no issues..
I think a few of the 94-95'* get a little ghost code for the VATS system from time to time.. I have erased this code from my PCM a few times over the years..
For the Vats system, once the car is running the VATS will not shut the car off or cause it to stall out...
I forget if I asked, but how was the Fuel pressure?
Short of these issues, you may have ICM or PCM issues..
And by chance what kind of tool did they use when they performed the $95 Scan?
If you were my neighbor, would have some parts to tinker with to get at the root of the problem...

would a bad alternator cause this problem.. i noticed the battery meter drops alot right when the car stalls or is about to stall...... also traction control stays stuck off when the car stallls and i restart.
also i have a extra icm i grabbed out the junk yard with some coils.. i already replaced the coils... should i try changing the icm? whats the worst that would happen. i could fix the problem.............
