Removing timing cover
Hi,
I was trying to remove the timing cover so that I could replace the interrupter magnet but I ran into a little problem. I got all the bolts and hoses off, but there is a pipe at the side that is preventing me from getting the timing cover out. Is there a way to take this pipe off?

This pipe...is this on the timing cover or the water pump?
I'd think you were referring to the water pump and one of the metal pipes. Please post a pic if you can.

I'm not quite sure I understand which "pipe" you are referring to, and having removed these covers, I can't remember any pipes in the way. If the following doesn't help maybe you could you post a pic.
Anyway, since I have the '92 FSM, here is the procedure for front cover removal (VINs 1 and L):
Remove or Disconnect
1. Torque axis mount (motor mount)
2. Drive belt
3. Crankshaft balancer (crank pulley)
4. Sensor shield (covers the crank position sensor by the crank pulley)
5. Oil pan to front cover bolts (up from the bottom into the cover)
6. Front cover attaching bolts and cover

Heater Outlet Pipe.
Ummm.... I think I just forced it. It'* quite annoying to get back on. Now that I think about it the metal part is mounted somewhere, but it'* hard to see. Make sure you replace the o-ring you'll find in there.
Here'* where I detailed the work I did to replace my timing chain:

It'* not only forced on Dame, there is a nut holding both water pipes to a stud that is on the accessory bracket.
Undo the nut, and wiggle, I believe the lower intake pipe is on top of the water pump pipe.
Remove one or both, as needed.
