94 4T60E tranny issue. Is it a corroded ground?
Greetings all, I have a 94 LeSabre with a 4T60E trans. Wierdness started this past fall and winter. Start car when cold and it will not shift right away (most of the time). I can hear the torque convertor spinning when in Drive but will not engage. Shut off car and restart and it would sometimes go into gear. Other times if I rev the engine up quickly when in Park, it would then engage when shifted to D. Other times I have let it sit to warm up a bit and it will then shift. I also unplugged the Vacuum line from modulator valve and plugged back in while car was running and it would then shift ok. When running it shifts up and down okay and no odd noises. Tried Lucas thinking a seal is letting the convertor leak back and problem remains. Now that warmer weather is here it is better but I still have to rev once in a while to get going on the first start of the morning. Other times it will sit for two days and shift right away. The TCC does have a ground and I read somewhere that there was a corroded ground problem with these trans. If so where is it grounded? Winter is coming soon and I need to figure this out. Is it an internal leak or am I wishful thinking that it is a ground issue? 229,000 KM on car. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
