Default 88 to 92+ Transaxle drop?

I recently bought a wrecked but drivable 88 bonneville for 100 bucks just for fun. It has the 3.8 MFI and the transmission is very nice.

I am looking for a newer car and I am planning on purchasing a 92-95 SE/SSE in the next few months and I am convinced with the reliability of my older olds 98 3.8.

The junkyard will only give me 125 for the car and only 25 if the tranny is removed. So i was thinking, hell for 100 bucks if the tranny ever went out it would be a simple cheap swap as it seems with the 3.8'* the tranny will always go out before the engine.

Will a tranny from an 88 bonnie work in a 92-95ish SE as well as an SSE?

Thanks in Advance
