Default rear disc brakes on a 99 Park Ave, how to compress the calip

ok whats the deal with compressing the caliper piston on this car ? Are these the screw in kind I have heard about ?? How do you do it without a tool ??

yes, they twist. DO NOT use a c-clamp, you will destroy them.

best thing to do is buy the $10 dollar cube that works with a 3/8 ratchet. but sometimes you can get it to go with needlenose pliers. just dont force it. i would advise against the plier approach though.

i did it with the needle nose ,do you just screw it all the way in untl it clears the pads ?

How does it come out when you brake ?

yes twist it in as far as it will go.

Not to sidetrack this thread, but I wasn't aware that there are caliper pistons that rotate. Can anyone tell me what year started using that type for disc brakes?

idk when the H bodies started, i believe it to be 2000, but i can say that the W bodies had them as early as 1990. and they are only on the rear. the front pistons are still compressed.
