Ride Leveling/Air Compressor Troubles?
Hi once again.
The air pump in the trunk of my 1992 SSEi doesn't work. When I press the button I hear a 'click' from a spot on the right front portion of my trunk, but that'* it. The 'click' is coming from a device that has clear plastic tubes running into it (air I assume). This summer when I first started tinkering with the 'clicking device' it got quite hot when the compressor button was pressed. I suppose it needs to be replaced? What is it?
After doing a search I discovered that the air compressor is located under the hood on the passenger side--when I had a look at it, there was nothing plugged into it, so I did put the closest plug that fit (the right plug I'm sure) into it--still nothing. I read on here that when a heavy load is placed in the trunk, the compressor will kick on--but nothing happens. I suspect that I haven't had the 'ride leveling' feature working since I bought the car 9 months ago, but other than check the fuses (which I did) I truthfully haven't a clue how to get it working.
Any ideas? And thank you all for your help and patience.

There are two fuses and a relay. The relay is under the maxifuse relay cover. PM driverjohn to tell you which one it is. We just replaced it on his SSEi last month. It should still be clean.
Fuse 12 and 23 if I recall. But I'm old and my memory fails me sometimes.

Is this only on SSEi'*? I have an SLE and it has the compressor switch in the trunk, but it does not have the plug for the compressor (air hose, an SSEi only feature IIRC). What year and meodel is your car OP?

Sorry to underail this thread but, here are a couple of pictures I snapped today.
Is this the air compressor? If so, the plug on the left side of it with the blue on it was not plugged in for some reason--plugging it in still didn't make the air compressor work.
This is the thing in the trunk that 'clicks' every time I press the 'on' button for the compressor in the trunk. I think it'* the thing on top that'* clicking--what is it, and should I replace it?
Driverjohn was more than helpful in letting me know where the relay is located that may need to be replaced. He said it "is the 3rd one from the right on the lower set." Is that the third from the right 'little black box' that you can see in this picture? If so, how do you get it out, and where can I buy a replacement? Also, why is the 4th from the left one missing? What is it for?
Thank you all again.

First pic, that'* not the compressor. (please put your year and trim level in your signature).
The compressor is right next to your WS washer tank. silver top. Shaped like a D on top.
Second pic, that is the solonoid and relay to switch between ELC and the inflator.
Third pic, yes. Little square black relays. Release tabs on the bottom. $7 at the dealer for John'* when he was visiting.

I just truthfully didn't even know what it was I was looking for. I snapped a pick to confirm that I was looking at the right thing.
Thanks again for your help though.
