First off, thanks for all the replies guys. We might be on our way to resolving the problem. Well, after throwing the mother-in-law out the window, I still hear the chime at 75 mph and above.

So do you guys think that my brake fluid is getting low, or the cluster, or both?

Oh and I don't have any real problems with the brakes other than occasionally the pedal depresses more than it should and I have to hit the brake harder than usual to get it to stop.

Anywho, I'm a newbie when it comes to cars and I'll go check the fluid here in a bit. Thanks again and hopefully we can solve this thing. If not, I guess on those long road trips in states with 70 mph speed limits, I will just have to set the cruise to 74 mph. That technique is still not flawless because when I go down-hill ... it dings. Darn momentum.

What do you mean when you ask if the brake light comes on?

As far as I know, the brake light only comes on when I have it on. Other than that, the light does not come on; if that is what you mean.

Not 100% familiar with the 92 dash cluster however, if you are having a brake problem, there may be an indicator light showing on the dash cluster. I think thats what Fuddy meant.

Maybe you mentioned this...not sure, do you have ABS? ABS systems have speed sensors ( I remember willwren mentioned something about this) If you don't have ABS, then it must be something else. Also checking the brake fluid levels might be good too.

Basically the cluster is an idiot read out device, methinks its something else is not feeding the cluster correct information and its wonkin out on ya :?

The brake light comes on when your brake fluid is low too.

Well, this is wierd. I would say that it is probably your Multi-Function Chime module. I don't know how to test for this problem - so I would get a new MFC module from the junkyard and put it in.

Do you get a chime when you leave your headlamps on, or at any other times?

Not the best diagnostic solution, but I'm not sure what else to do.

I'm not sure what you mean, but yeah, other gauges to chime when they get into the red shaded area as well as when the parking brake is on.

I also get chimes when I leave keys in ignition, headlights on, etc.
