no but this is 92-99 specific process for throttle body cleaning

and now on with the show

first make sure you have to many tools for the job so they have yet another opportunity to get lost

then start getting stuff out of the way and yes i did get rid of the MAF screen

Name: DSCF0072.jpg
Views: 63
Size: 166.3 KB

nice and crusty in there

Name: DSCF0073.jpg
Views: 63
Size: 132.7 KB

then get the 3 bolts out of throtle body and the 2 behind for the heat shield and throtle link support as well as the 2 on the front of support that go to the throttle body
and you end up with this

Size: 136.0 KB

the back was in you guessed it shape

Name: DSCF0076.jpg
Views: 30
Size: 100.0 KB

took the angle grinder with a brown scrubby to the mating surfaces

the only tools i used was a 12,13,14,15, and a 8 mm as well as a regular and philips screwdriver

the crud off the MAF

the MAF only held in with 3 screws

a close up of the back be for it went in the parts scrubber /pot scrubber

Name: DSCF0083.jpg
Views: 36
Size: 102.4 KB

new gasket as well as new MAF screen and clip

Name: DSCF0084.jpg
Views: 41
Size: 104.1 KB

round 1 with the part scrubber/pot scrubber

Name: DSCF0085.jpg
Views: 76
Size: 156.0 KB

the cleaners of choice

Name: DSCF0086.jpg
Views: 57
Size: 114.6 KB

after round 1

Name: DSCF0087.jpg
Views: 29
Size: 130.9 KB

after round 2

Name: DSCF0088.jpg
Views: 38
Size: 83.7 KB

after round 3

Name: DSCF0089.jpg
Views: 27
Size: 113.5 KB

then it was on to the IAC wile it was rinsing and what not

Name: DSCF0093.jpg
Views: 34
Size: 52.9 KB

ding dishes err i mean parts done

Name: DSCF0094.jpg
Views: 30
Size: 99.3 KB

Name: DSCF0095.jpg
Views: 32
Size: 89.4 KB

then reinstall with new gasket and MAF screen the way it came out make sure that you put the heat shield back the way it cam out or you will be tearing it back apart like i did

Name: DSCF0099.jpg
Views: 37
Size: 160.7 KB

i tryed to get a shot of the heat shield /throttle bracket bolt set up but my camera was to big to fit in there the cruse cable is held with a E clip and i thought it would be a pain to get off but it was easy just take your time and i didn't even drop it

yes if i had spent more time on it it could have gotten it perfect but i ran out of crab cleaner and no extra tooth brush so i did my best for now the car has to be used tomorrow so it was a compromise at this time till i get a different one to go all out with but for now it will do the job well

and as Wren said the MAF screen dose have a pourpous so i put it back i'm not running anything near the power level it takes for it to be a restriction so in it went as well as when goneville was here he said my uneven idel was from no screen it seem so mutch better all around now so we will see
