Urgent Fuel problem - need help
FInally found my fuel pressure gauge to check out my "car running like doo-doo" problem. THe loss of power, bogging down, etc. Well checked pressure with key on engine off, about 40psi. Started the car and holy crud...rapid flucuation between 34-42psi. Revved it up and she just flucuates even higher, up to about 45psi. Then I put the guage on my mom'* 95 N/A Lesabre...40 psi KOEO, and steady at around 40 while engine running, going up slightly when revving up (as expected). The guage flucuation for my car is like bumble bee fast. So while running, on the SSEi, I pulled the vacuum hose off the fuel regulator. Pressure dropped to like a minimum of 32ish, but still going up near 40, needle still buzzing fast.
So what does this mean? I'm thinking regulator is bad, fuel flow is resrticted, or pump is bad. If the regualtor was bad, I'm thinking the excess fuel could be killing my plugs. I don't get spark knock anymore. It just feels like I'm running on less than 6 cyl under load. But today it was really bad.
Thoughts?
TIA

The pump is dead. Replace it and I'll bet your problem is solved. As it'* electric, it should hardly fluctuate at all.
Use Gmpartsdirect.com. I've had good luck with them.

FPR would leak fuel out of the nipple when you pulled the vacuum hose if it was bad.
I'm with CSFiend and Bob Dillon, the pump is in it'* death throws.[/img]
