Pontiac Bonneville SE 1992
I bought her in December 2009. Tonight was my first issue ever. I was on the freeway and suddenly the car slowed down and made that revving up noise. Eventually it let go of whatever was stalling the engine (maybe transmission, I hope not) and was normal. It did this three more times before I got home.
I also noticed that the RPM x1000 meter which is usually between 2 and 3 shot up to 7 (the red danger area). It has 85,700 miles on it. I haven't had a tune up yet.
Also about a month ago my cigarette lighter (which didn't have a holder in it) turned on and I couldn't get it off. The lighter got really hot before I stuck a pencil in it to turn it off. Now my interior lights won't turn on whenever I open the door and when I turned my ignition to have just the radio on my windows won't roll down.
What'* wrong with my car? Any ideas?

I'm not clear on what happened to your cigar lighter...

If you had a lighter with no holder, are you speaking of the **** that is used to pull it out of its socket?
BUT, I doubt it is related to the other items anyway.
For the interior lights not opening when you open your door, check fuse #2 (15A) in the Relay Center, and the relay in position F in the Relay Center. The Relay Center is behind the right-hand side of the Instrument Panel.
