Rubber motor mount replacement?
I was underneath my 117K mile 1996 SE doing an oil change, and noticed something that looked a little wrong. The lower right side rubber motor mount looks like it'* separating from inside the metal housing, and the rubber itself is pretty soft. Is this a common higher mileage related issue that calls for replacement, or nothing to really worry about? What'* the level of job difficulty, if it does need to be done?

The motor and tranny mounts take on a considerable amount of torque and abuse from these 3800'*. It'* not uncommon to have the dampeners fail and rot out. The job is not that difficult if you have a clean and dry space, a good floor jack, some jack stands and hand tools.

By lower right, you mean the back passenger mount? It does take a lot and frequently becomes bad after an oil leak or power steering leak has occured. I'd change it out.
I'd also be looking at the front left mount for seperation from the metal and the right side main mount for cracks or wearing of paint on the metal of the bracket where contact may occur. Usually it'* not only one mount by the time we notice them.

Nope. Maybe I mislead with my description- this mount isn't a cast link like the picture above. It'* a complex steel stamping, and attaches with a bolt to the transaxle to the subframe crossmember. I didn't find it on RockAuto, will look further.

Sorry for the poor communication on my part, guys- here it is. View is from the front of the car looking back, passenger side. Probably called a transmission mount, not motor mount. Mount looks pretty bad, no?
