Rear window seal
I have not posted in awhile..........I check in everyday, but do not have anything to add, most of the time Will has already addressed the matter. Now however I have found I have a new issue to deal with. Water in the spare tire area of the trunk. I did a search and most things point to the rear window seal. Could I get a clearer explanation of just where this seal is located and where it could be leaking into my trunk? I do not know if this is my problem, but I need to start somewhere. All my gasket material around the trunk appears in great shape..........any other areas to check ???
Thanks, Dylansdad

You could also check the actuall spare tire well. I know on my cutlass there is a kinda plug that is supposed to sel it directly under the car, but mine has come loose. It'* just a thought.

Dylansdad, welcome back? How'* the cute kid? Get a dry day, and use a garden hose to allow water to trickle over the rear window. After a little while it'll start trickling in the trunk back under the rear deck. If it does this, and you don't want to replace the seal, you can run a small bead of clear or black silicone sealant along the bottom edge of the seal where it meets the glass. I'm pretty sure it'* the glass side that leaks, but I'm not sure. Might try both.
Or you could just goop it and see if it ever gets wet again!

I just want to make sure where you are talking about putting the sealant. My outside trim rim around the back window appears to be fine. There is a black flap? that extends down from the back window bottom under the edge of the trunk lid that appears to be ok also. I am going to try to run water down the window this weekend (if it does not snow AGAIN!!) and just wanted to make sure EXACTLY what rear seal you were saying is a common problem with these cars...............Thanks............DD
