UInfortunately it is buried inside the transmission and typically requires the trans to be removed in order for it to be serviced.

Default Qft...

just had mine done about a week ago. I was kind of pissed because the car only has 70K on it, but it is nine years old (2000 SSEI) so................it was $400 but the thing is, that'* cheaper than the avg. car payment for most people so...............it drives like a dream now. Onward and upward hopefully.

My dealer gave me a bottle of some kind of friction modifier that is supposed to cure TCC shudder, if that is your problem. I dropped the pan and changed the fluid (see the DIY section here), then added the conditioner and Dextron VI. Another garage said they use Dr Tranny Instant shudder fix and claims it cures all TCC shudder problems.

This may be worth a try before shelling out $400+.
So far no shudder, but I haven't put many km'* on it yet.

I agree Enslow, which is why I tried that about 6 months ago. Didn't help but it didn't get worse until recently, which is when I took it in and it was definately the problem as it runs like a dream now. My mechanic specifically recommended the Dr. Tranny Shudder fix and the guy knows his stuff, but as I said: the selenoid was bad and I could tell for quite some time it was getting worse. FWIW, I've heard other guys say the like Dr. Tranny too, but not for a problem of this magnitude.
