Default 1993 SE, SSE, SSEi, etc...HOW TO DETERMINE?? HELP!

:?: I am considering buying a 93 Bonne. The VIN comes up on Carfax as a SE...BUT, this car has leather interior, rear spoiler, gold rims, etc., and from what information I found on the different models, I don't know what the h#ll I'm buying! Edmounds.com has Option packages listed for this car, but the car I'm interested in doesnt have every item listed in the SB1 package....I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. LOL

(Does it REALLY matter? Yeah, I wanna know these things! LOL)

(93 Bonne, dark green, dark tan leather interior (including steering wheel), gold honeycomb? rims, rear spoiler, power driver seat, tach, oil, temp, amp gauges, keyless entry...that'* all I remember) It has about 43k miles on it, possibly the original Goodyear tires, looks and rides great).

THANKS!!

Sounds like it'* a SLE packaged Bonne. If you open the trunk and look on the spare tire cover there should be a sticker with a bunch of letter and number designations. If it is a SLE it will have H4U on that sticker. Pontiac didnt badge them as SLE'* until 1998.

Could it perchance also be supercharged?

Thanks! I'll check the sticker on Saturday when I go back to check it out in more detail..it was too d#mn HOT last Friday to crawl under it and dig around checking everything over. The A/C is nice and COLD though.

I don't know if it is supercharged....all I remember is that it said 3800 across the engine...it has ALOT of power though so I'm wondering...like I said, I didn't pay much attention to details...which makes me wonder if those rims are 15 or 16 inch... I will be buying tires for it immediately...assuming I buy it.

Thanks, Deb

If it has the gold crosslace wheels they are 16" wheels, and are a pain to get clean. But replace the brake pads with a ceramic pad and that problem goes away.
Definately check to see if it is supercharged. The SE/SC'* are a rare find.

93, Dark green, gold rims with only 43K miles, go for it. Check the pics of Wilwren'* 93 SSEi. Are there any badges on the door panels that say SLE?

Since you have the amp gauges, I am guessing you don't have the supercharged engine. Usually (but not always) the SC'd engines also got a boost gauge on the dash. But the SC'd cars that weren't SSEi'* were rare.

I dont think the supercharged SE has a boost gage Gordy, IIRC Tim doesnt have a boost gage on his 95 SESC

I didnt buy the car..it has a bit of a problem with antifreeze in the oil. :( Kinda pissed and bummed at the same time. I have always liked the look of bonnes...and since I drove this 93, I REALLY, REALLY WANT ONE! I'm going to keep looking...maybe one day I'll have a bonne of my own to "brag" about. LOL

Well, I can definitely find one. Seams like I find a good one for a awesome price. I bought my 1999 Bonneville SSEi for $5500 from the original owners last fall with higher miles, but in pristine condition (though tranny needed to be rebuilt butit was under warranty so the rebuild was free) and now I just bought my 1998 SSE for pocket change last week, hooked up a friend and ex friend (ex-fiance) with a 2000 SLE w/115k for only $6000 this evening to replace their worn out 240,xxx mile 1993 SE/SLE (used the interior from her old totalled out 1994 SLE in this SE) -wish I'd seen the 2000 last week.

damn! those are some nice finds dude! I would take a 2000 sle for 6k anyday, I love those new body styles... But my 93 SSE will do and with 87K it'll last a long time
