TC bearing support
Hi, new here. Great forum. Quick question. Has anyone ever heard a belt squeeling noise that shows up after warm-up? Comes and goes. Transmission guy says it may be the tc support bearing.. Its definitely not the serp belt. Thanks, Bill

Torque converter support bearing.
Never heard of it, but I would get a second opinion on that diagnosis. Sounds like it would require a transmission rebuild.

The mechanic showed me the bearing. Looks like a hub shaped unit with internal needle bearings. Said the TC unit inside is actually on this bearing "support". And yes it would involve tranny rebuild because shavings would be everywhere. I need to pull the pan off to check for shavings I guess. Thanks

Starting to wonder if maybe this noise could be the pcv valve. I just bought this car, and I know the intake was done this spring. The car is at college with the kid right now so I can't check the o-ring on the pcv valve. Does the squeel sound actually sound like a belt is slightly slipping when the o-ring on the valve is missing? Hope so. That would be much cheaper than messing with a tranny problem. Thanks, Bill
