Default Broken charcoal canister line

just looking at the motor i realized theres a broken line hanging from the charcoal canister (under front fender). No idea what its used for but can this be a symptom of hard starting (when hot) by any chance?

The canister is a place to store gas vapors for later use. If a line is broken, that'* a vacuum leak.

Let'* make sure it'* the right part. Your mention of "under front fender" made me wonder. The charcoal canister is located under the pcm box, partially in the fender on the driverside. Very visible from the engine bay. The vacuum canister (for the HVAC system) is located under the passenger front fender and is only visibile from under the car.

Either line being broken is a likely vacuum leak.

sry BillBoost37 your right its the passenger side and can only be seen under the bumper *infront of the fender* sry worded it wrong. Found out the the line runs across the engine bay to a port which is part of the brake booster line.

Any time you have unmetered air entering the system it throws off the AFR. Best to fix any leaks.
