Default Strange smoke?

It seems after going for a drive in the '96 with a few WOT runs, there was some smoke coming from the front of the engine, seemed almost below the exhaust manifold. This has been happening for a few days now, I think since I fixed the BCS.

I am not losing coolant. It is at the same level it always has been. Oil looks just fine - no bubbles, milky ****, or anything like that. Engine temp is fine, it isn't overheating at all. Also, the smoke smells strange. Not like exhaust or anything car related I've ever smelled. Exhaust from the tail pipes looks and smells fine.

Again, coming from the front exhaust manifold vicinity. I know when I was changing stuff old dried out electrical tape, possibly cracked wire loom fell down. Could it be that crap burning on the manifold? I can't see it, but otherwise I'm confused.

BTW, it is not enough smoke to see from the outside....you have to pop the hood to see it.

Definitely sounds like you dropped something on the manifold. If you have it available, hit the area (carefully, so you don't knock something else loose) with some compressed air. Try and blow any loose crap that hasn't already melted itself on.

A bit of degreaser/cleaner might help too.

Or, just watch it til it burns itself clean.... <-- That'* what I would do
